Citywide, Amsterdam has 87.5 m² of green space per resident. In Burgwallen-Oude Zijde it is 0.1 m². Same city, same method. Below is where that line runs, and what the municipality plans to spend on it.

The raw STAD figures above rise between 2022 and 2023 because Weesp joined the Amsterdam municipality that year - not because of any green-space gain. Subtract Weesp (and Driemond) from every year and green space per resident actually falls every year: -7.4% from 77.1 m² in 2019 to 71.4 m² in 2025· source: BBGA ORPUBGROEN/BEVTOTAAL, area "STAD" minus area "S".

Reference date 1 January 2025 · source: City of Amsterdam, Monitor Groen (Research and Statistics), Monitor Groen 2024. This is the only official, publicly citable target we could find for the Groenvisie 2020–2050 - a walking-distance norm, not an m²-per-resident figure. The Amsterdam Court of Audit (Rekenkamer) confirms this: in its report "Groen in de stad", it concludes the city has no binding green-space norm, and that the often-cited "WHO norm of 9 m² of green per resident" isn't based on an actual WHO guideline but on a misunderstanding.
